It is hard to believe we are in week 9 already. We have another full week of learning at NLSPS. This term and year we have made so many great accomplishments. When I think about the milestones in our school strategic directions we are certainly well on the way to achieving them by the end of 2019.
Please keep referring to our school website for all the information on what is happening in our school. Each Sunday we will send out the Week Ahead and then update our weekly news with The Week That Was on Friday afternoon.
Thanks to Mr Low for organising the stage 2 and 3 bike riding for sport. Also a big thank you to the parent volunteers, I know the teachers and students appreciate it. 5/6L went on Friday and had a great time. Bike riding is a great activity that allows students to be physically active whilst fitting in nicely with the Departments Sport and PDHPE requirements.
On Friday, Kindergarten had their long awaited excursion to Oakvale Farm. By all accounts they had a great time and their behaviour was excellent. This excursion is aligned to the unit of work ‘Paddock to Plate’. Photos from the day were added to The Week That Was on our website.
Dogs on and near school grounds
To ensure safety and health of students and staff, I ask that dogs (all shapes and sizes) are not on school grounds (working dogs are excluded). I also ask if you and your dog are waiting for your child/ren outside any of the gates, may you please stand a considerable distance away. Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
On Friday we recognised students from the cross country and athletics carnival. It was a lovely opportunity to congratulate place winners, students who made it through to Zone, Regional and State. Well done and thank you to Mr Hawke for your organisation and all the teachers who assist at carnivals and sporting events to make them successful. We heard from Cory Everett who told us all about his successes and how he went at Nationals Cross Country. Congratulations to all our students. You certainly make us all very proud.
Stage 3 Furniture
New stage 3 furniture was delivered and put together on Tuesday night. The students got a lovely surprise on Wednesday. There are some photos of what the furniture looks like on the ‘The Week The Was’. Some more furniture is on the way over the next 2 weeks to finish it off. Thank you to the P& C for allowing this to happen for our students.
P & C meeting
P& C meeting is on Tuesday night at 7pm. I look forward to seeing you there.
Have a great week 9.
