We all had a great morning in kindergarten orientation this morning. There were a few tears which is to be expected as our new students take their first steps in their journey in Primary school. These quickly dried up as the kids took part in some wonderful activities, singing, games and craft. Orientation will continue over the next few weeks with a teddy bears picnic and of course meeting the buddies.
FAIRFIELD STREET DEVELOPMENT
As some of you would be aware there is currently a proposed development of a 20 unit housing complex on Fairfield Avenue. This complex will be 3 stories high and provide parking for 12 car parks. A number of residents have approached the school both personally and in writing expressing their concerns on the impact this development will have on the traffic flow and parking in the street. The school will be responding expressing these concerns as per the appropriate channels.
END OF YEAR ACTIVITIES
A Care Monkey note was sent home this week outlining the many activities that occur towards the end of the school year. Please take the time to read this letter. All activities can be found on the website with links to permissions and payments.
LEAVING IN 2019
If you are leaving the school in 2019 it would be greatly appreciated if you could contact the school and let us know. Establishing classes is directly related to the numbers of students in our school. At this point in time we will be starting with 19 classes however a small change in numbers could see this change to 18.
There is a huge amount of lost property located near the administration building. Over the next week we will endeavour to locate owners of the jumpers, hats etc that have accumulated during the colder months. Please take the time to come and have a look as we will be disposing of anything without names or donating them to the second hand pile in the uniform shop.
Congratulations to Elizabeth Lee making it to the State Final of the Premiers Spelling Bee. Elizabeth made it to the second last round on Friday, spelling flaccid with one c. A massive effort!
